Mon 22 July 2019, telkomtelstra

Jakarta-Indonesia, March 14th 2016. Telkomtelstra, a joint-venture between Telkom Indonesia and Telstra Corporation Limited, releases a new data center infrastructure service today; Private Cloud. This flagship product will complement telkomtelstra’s existing Managed Cloud Service offering, which comprises of Software as a Service (SaaS), Managed Solutions Services, integrated with wide range network, world-class capability and local expertise.

By utilizing Private Cloud from telkomtelstra, Indonesian companies and organizations can be more focused on developing their businesses, increasing productivity and efficiency, innovating – and creating a competitive advantage.

Erik Meijer, President Director of telkomtelstra said, “we are really proud of telkomtelstra’s capability in providing a market leading Private Cloud Service to Indonesian enterprises. Telkomtelstra will use Telkom’s vast network capability, together with its domestic infrastructure and Telstra’s technological expertise to serve local organisations with a Managed Cloud offer, helping them to focus on their business and do what they do better.”

A recent forecast from Gartner, ‘Public Cloud Services, Worldwide, 2013-2019, 4Q15’, reports that the Cloud opportunity in Indonesia is at a state of maturity and is now becoming a building block for enterprises to build, manage and create new business value for their customers; and leverage cost efficiencies with Cloud service delivery models. I.T outsourcing is anticipated to grow at a healthy rate in the service management market within Indonesia over the next five years. Specifically, the Cloud market within Indonesia is expected to grow from $287M to $430M by 2018 at a CAGR of 19%.” Source: Gartner, 22 December 2015.

Telkomtelstra’s initial Cloud offering is looking to address the above market trend and deliver the first phase of telkomtelstra’s strategy to focus on local, design based innovation and enable strategic partnerships with global Cloud vendors.
Erik said, “It is important for Indonesian organisations to look at how Private Cloud can not only help secure their business critical applications and data, but also look at the overall cost reductions of a fully managed service. We provide these Cloud services, on locally-hosted infrastructure, in order to comply with government regulations around on-shore data storage and integrity.”

With the need to focus on enabling local capabilities, support models and commercial structures that suit the Indonesian market, telkomtelstra’s product strategy is to provide secure and best in class products and services that enable customers to innovate, grow, and better serve their own customers.

Customers can now have the benefit of hosting their own Private Cloud platform secure to their business and fully managed by telkomtelstra. This reduces the complexities for telkomtelstra’s customers and allows them to focus on their core products and services.
Complementing telkomtelstra’s existing SaaS offering, Private Cloud can be a solution for minimizing risk within an organisation’s IT operations – requiring specialised security, governance, management and tools to ensure visibility and control at every service level. Soon, telkomtelstra will also offer customers the option to combine Private and Public Cloud applications creating a Hybrid Cloud solution that enables greater flexibility of business operations, infrastructure management and cost control.

With this product release telkomtelstra is bringing to market the ability to leverage ‘in the Cloud’ technology, to move Indonesian businesses forward into the digital future. Partnering with world leading providers, such as VCE, telkomtelstra will deliver an end-to-end management platform, supplying customers a complete service across the network and into the cloud – helping to deliver organizational growth in an efficient and flexible way.

Erik added, “This is a very good time for businesses in Indonesia to transform themselves digitally and be able to compete in the global marketplace.”

Additional information on Private Cloud

Private Cloud is deployed for the exclusive use of an organization. A customer can own, manage and host the private cloud and their infrastructure can exist on or off premises. Companies using private Cloud have direct control over implementation, hardware, networking, security, operating systems and software used to make the Cloud work.

Private cloud is typically used by organizations who need to maintain control of the data centre. For example organizations who are concerned with security, compliance and keeping data assets within the company firewall, or who are required to keep data assets on premise or on shore. Further benefits of using Private Cloud are the ability to leverage existing CAPEX, reduce OPEX and streamline operational efficiencies.
