IT Support Apprentice

  • Assist employees with technical issues related to computers, networks, and other IT equipment.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for hardware and software problems.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance on IT systems, including software updates, etc.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and upgrading of hardware and software.
  • Set up and manage user accounts, email accounts, and access permissions.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees, including setting up their computers, software, and access to network resources.
  • Help troubleshoot network issues, including connectivity problems, Wi-Fi, and VPN.
  • Assist in maintaining network security, including firewall configurations and monitoring for potential threats.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions in the helpdesk system.
  • Create and update user guides or technical documentation for staff.
  • Assist with setting up new computers, printers, and other devices.
  • Perform routine checks on hardware to ensure functionality and perform repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Work closely with the IT team to improve internal processes and enhance system performance.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss IT-related improvements and innovations.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree or certification program (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field).
  • Previous experience or internships in IT support is a plus, but not required.
  • Basic understanding of IT systems, hardware, and software.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and common software applications (Microsoft Office, browsers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of network basics, including troubleshooting Wi-Fi, VPN, and networked devices.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, such as malware protection and safe browsing practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in IT.
  • Positive attitude and proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to assist others and contribute to team goals.
  • Adaptable and open to receiving feedback and training.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
